Name: Kuzco
Fandom: The Emperor’s New Groove
Gender: Male
Time Period: Before the movie
Wing Color: Gold
In-depth Synopse:
The most anti of Disney’s anti-heroes, Kuzco is the star of The Emperor’s New Groove. He’s an arrogant, selfish emperor of the Incas, who believes the entire world revolves around him. He thinks everyone lives to serve only him and he treats his people like dirt. Though almost 18 years old, he acts like a spoiled child and will start to whine when something doesn’t quite go his way. He also likes to space off when people are rambling on, getting absorbed in his own petty thoughts.
In the first movie, Kuzco finally gets what’s coming to him when he fires his advisor, Yzma. Completely furious and plotting to take over the throne, she invites him over for dinner and attempts to poison him. Luckily, her dopey sidekick Kronk accidentally mixes up the potions and Kuzco is turned into a (talking) Llama. Yzma orders her henchman to get rid of the body but, thanks to his shoulder angels, Kronk can’t go through with this heinous murder. He falls down some stairs and drops the bag containing Kuzco’s body, which lands on a cart that disappears into the bustling crowd. This is how our Llama-fied emperor meets Pacha, a simple peasant whose village was supposed to be destroyed to make way for Kuzco’s new summer resort. The two undertake a journey to return to the palace in hopes of getting Kuzco back to normal. Slowly, the selfish emperor learns about what it means to be a friend, teamwork and all that cheesy Disney moral. There’s also cross-dressing involved. At the end of the movie, Yzma is turned into a cat and Kuzco’s humanity is restored. Having learned from his mistakes, the nice new emperor decides not to destroy Pacha’s village and turns over a new leaf.
But since this Kuzco is taken from before the movie, obviously he has learned nothing yet. Also, the lousy sequel and the crappy TV-series will be completely ignored in the portrayal of this character.
